Mary J. Bugg (1816-?) was the daughter of Jesse Bugg and Martha (Patsy) Andrews. Mary wed Zachariah Calhoun, a Methodist lay minister, and they moved to Massac Co., Illinois.
Mary almost completed her sampler. The green area of stitching in the lower left hand corner may have been the base for a basket or vase.
