Biography:
Martha E. Carr (1822-1904) was the daughter of divorced parents William Martin Carr and Susan Dalton Smith. Martha married Dr. Christopher Columbus McEwen, and they resided in Columbia, TN, where they raised twelve children.
Description:
Martha’s sampler is sadly faded. Originally, the colors would have been intense blue and yellow.
