Roxana M’Gee (c.1825-?) was the daughter of Dr. William McGee, a physician, and his wife Elizabeth Old. Her father died when she was seven, leaving her mother with six children. Roxana married a grocer, William R. Cole, and moved to Ripley, MS, then further west to Pueblo in the Colorado Territory. She died sometime after 1880.
Roxana included her parents’ birth dates in the two cartouches at the bottom of the sampler. Her father was born in 1793 and her mother in 1799.
