Biography:
Sarah (Sallie) Elizabeth Andrews (1839-1897) was the daughter of George Andrews, a farmer, and Winifred Matthews. She was attending the Union Academy along with Mary Halfacre (TSS 008) when she made this sampler under the instruction of Isabella Wallis Slate. Sallie married Samuel McDowell and had six children.
