Biography:
Jerusha Candace Durham (1825-1880) was the daughter of Thomas Durham, Jr. and his second wife, Elizabeth C. Johnson. She and her older sister Sally may have been attending the Edmondson Female Academy in McMinnville when they made their samplers.
Description:
Jerusha included many family initials on her sampler. Her large bouquet of flowers and the border feature expertly worked buttonhole wheels.
