Wincy Piercy (1800-?) was born in Bristol Parish, Dinwiddie Co., VA, the daughter of Sherwood Piercy (Pearcy) and Martha L (Patsy) Crook. She married John Scroggins in 1820 in Wilson County and had six children.
Wincy’s sampler is worked on very fine linen with careful hem stitching finishing the edges. She experimented with queen stitches in the upper left hand corner.
