Biography:
Wincy Piercy (1800-?) was born in Bristol Parish, Dinwiddie Co., VA, the daughter of Sherwood Piercy (Pearcy) and Martha L (Patsy) Crook. She married John Scroggins in 1820 in Wilson County and had six children.
Description:
Wincys sampler is worked on very fine linen with careful hem stitching finishing the edges. She experimented with queen stitches in the upper left hand corner.
