Katharine Christian Conell (Connell) (1818-1897) lived in the Gallatin/White’s Creek area. The daughter of Enoch Prince Conell and Nancy Ann Walton, she married John Hunter Cartwright and had six children.

Although Katharine included the word "Age" in her cartouche, she did not leave enough room for the numerals. She would have been 12 or 13 when she completed her sampler.
