Biography:
Roxana M’Gee (c.1825-?) was the daughter of Dr. William McGee, a physician, and his wife Elizabeth Old. Her father died when she was seven, leaving her mother with six children. Roxana married a grocer, William R. Cole, and moved to Ripley, MS, then further west to Pueblo in the Colorado Territory. She died sometime after 1880.
Description:
Roxana included her parents’ birth dates in the two cartouches at the bottom of the sampler. Her father was born in 1793 and her mother in 1799.
